Andrew Greszler goes to work every day knowing the dangers of his job as a Lorain Police officer, but Friday, when he got ready for work, everything just felt different.
"It wasn't an officer responding to somebody for help, which is inherent to our job, we think that can be a dangerous situation, but this was completely different, it was a deliberate attack, it was a murder. It's a little bit more on edge now, A little more looking out for each other, making sure everyone is backed up,” Greszler said.
On Friday, the day after the tragic ambush on Dallas police officers his thoughts are with his colleagues.
"That just completely changes your whole thought process. That's not something we anticipate, we anticipate dangers every day, but not not somebody setting up an attack,” Greszler said.
Officer Greszler knows every call, every traffic stop, someone could have a gun.
“I come to work hoping everything goes well and goes according to plan, but always ready and prepared for the worst,” Greszler said,
As he prepared for his shift, Greszler told another officer to be careful and
"Enjoy your time with your family,” Greszler said.
