Man arrested in Cleveland after firing rifle into home where children slept early Christmas morning

CLEVELAND — A 25-year-old man was arrested during a domestic dispute early Christmas morning after he fired a rifle outside of his home, striking a neighboring home, according to the Cleveland Division of Police.

Around 1:13 a.m., officers were called to the 3600 block of Sackett Avenue for a report of an intoxicated man attacking family members and threatening to shoot them.

When officers arrived on the scene, the man began firing a rifle from inside the house multiple times, police said.

Rounds struck a neighboring home where there were children sleeping, according to police.

Officers tased the man and were able to take him into custody.

Police said that no one was injured in the incident.

The man was charged with domestic violence, assault on police officers, aggravated menacing, endangering children, criminal damage, and discharge of firearm into habitation.
