CLEVELAND — A new bakery is preparing to open at Bloom Bakery's former location in Cleveland State University's Campus District next year.

According to a news release from the Fahey Group, the "new social enterprise bakery" is expected to open at 1938 Euclid Ave. in January 2020.

The Fahey Group states that the "new venture will embrace the Bloom Bakery social enterprise mission of offering opportunities to those facing employment barriers."

The bakery's name hasn't been announced, but the Fahey Group said it will "reflect the business's core mission and its Cleveland roots."

The bakery's menu is based on Maurice Chaplais' "artisan baking techniques," the news release stated. The bakery will offer gluten-free and vegan options as well as a menu for breakfast and lunch.

The Fahey Group stated that it could bring additional locations to Cleveland neighborhoods if the company determines the locales are a good fit.

“Through this new venture, we will be able to continue the vital mission that was the foundation of Bloom Bakery – to provide hope and a new start to people in our community who just need a chance to prove what they can do,” said Ellen Bruno, Chief Operating Officer of Fahey Group, who helped launch Bloom Bakery and will oversee the management team for the new business. “In addition, we will be providing a wide variety of high-quality products for consumers and catering customers. We believe in this business model, and we are confident in our long-term prospects for success and growth in this area.”
