CLEVELAND — On Sunday, Cleveland’s Glenville community dedicated a new mural on the corner of East 91st Street and St. Clair Avenue.

The new mural, “VOTE,” depicts a young child’s cry for awareness and action, wearing a shirt that reads “I’m here to change the world” while holding a megaphone with the word “vote” on it.

The mural is the latest in a series of Community Engagement Murals that have been produced by Sankofa Fine Arts Plus over the last five years.

Robin Robinson, the artist of “VOTE,” said the mural was designed after discussions with the Glenville community.

“We never enter a mural project with a predetermined concept or theme. Everything comes from the community discussions and their commitment to providing their own voices to the walls they live with,” Robinson said in a press release.

The mural was dedicated Saturday afternoon and featured live music and a food drive to benefit the Greater Cleveland Food Bank.
