Police investigating after 18-year-old shot, killed in Cleveland

CLEVELAND — A homicide investigation is underway after an 18-year-old was shot and killed Saturday night in Cleveland, according to the Cleveland Division of Police.

Around 11:25 p.m., officers responded to the 500 block of East 109th Street for a mass gathering/noise complaint. Once on scene, officers said they heard gunshots coming from about a block away.

Police searched the area and found the 18-year-old in a yard with a gunshot wound to his chest. Officers administered first aid and EMS was called, police said.

EMS transported the 18-year-old to University Hospitals where we was pronounced dead, according to police.

Cleveland’s homicide unit was called to the scene to begin an investigation. Investigators are working to determine if the shooting and the noise complaint are connected.

No arrests have been made at this time and the incident remains under investigation.
