CLEVELAND — Night Market Cleveland—a summer event that brought vibrancy to a neighborhood with pan-Asian food, entertainment and a farmers market— is coming back after abruptly canceling its 2018 summer events when funding goals fell short.
Hosted in the city’s Asiatown district, Night Market Cleveland brings a fusion of the area’s distinctive community through cultural performances, food and local businesses.
Night Market Cleveland will take place the following days at Rockwell Avenue and East 21st Street:
- June 21—5 to 11 p.m
- July 26—5 to 11 p.m.
- August 30— 5 to 11 p.m.
- Sept. 27— 5 to 11 p.m.
In 2018, organizers said the festival, which was slated to run once a month over the summer through September, was coming to an end. In a Facebook post to its followers, the organizers said they can no longer carry out the season because of funding goals that fell short, among other factors. Circumstances such as venue space, funding and infrastructure were some of the reasons mentioned for the cancellation.
Organizers are continuing the "Asiatown Food Tour," that will give Clevelanders an immersive experience as a tour guide takes you to four restaurants to get a taste of Cleveland's authentic food scene.
While filling your stomach with the best Asian food in town, you'll hear about the neighborhood's rich history and its movement into becoming a hub for art, culture, dining and recreation. Tickets are $75 and each tour can accommodate up to 30 people.
The tour dates are as follows:
- April 17
- May 15
- June 12
- July 10
- August 14
- Sept. 11
- Oct. 16
