CLEVELAND — A teacher was injured Thursday while trying to break up a fight between three students at the Jane Addams Business Careers Center, a specialty school in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District.

The fight broke out during school hours, according to Roseann Canfora with CMSD.

After the teacher was injured while breaking up the fight, a security officer in the building responded.

All three students have been referred for discipline as there is a zero-tolerance policy, Canfora said.

The Chief of Safety and Security said the fight resulted in minor injuries, but the teacher and students wanted to be examined, so EMS was called.

An EMS official said they responded to the school and transported a 56-year-old woman and two 16-year-old males to Metro in stable condition.

News 5 crews at the scene at about 1:15 p.m. saw one student with a bloody nose being helped away, along with a Cleveland police presence.
