CLEVELAND — After a Saturday full of protests in Akron and Cleveland following the death of George Floyd in Minnesota earlier this week, clean up efforts have started.

The Strongsville Police Department said on Facebook Sunday evening that it is aware of rumors circulating about “alleged plans of unrest” and is taking appropriate precautions. More here.

During a peaceful protest against police violence and racial injustices held in Lorain Sunday, a Lorain police officer who joined in the demonstration announced the department’s dedication to ensuring police brutality does not happen in their community. More here.

A rally for justice protest scheduled to happen Tuesday in Chagrin Falls has been canceled by the event’s organizer due to the “sudden escalation of events” that have been happening around the country. More here.

The city of Cleveland announced that the Proclamation of Civil Emergency and curfew enacted in the Downtown and central business area of the city has been extended until June 2. More here.

City workers were out in full force today cleaning up the damage left behind after a group of agitators broke away from Saturday's peaceful George Floyd protest and began vandalizing businesses. The workers received a lot of help from dozens of volunteers. More here.

The Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Department said that 65 people were arrested in Cleveland Saturday night following the racial injustice protest and demonstration. More here.
