The visitation and funeral arrangements have been announced for a Cleveland police officer who was killed in the line of duty this week.
Officer David Fahey was struck by a car and killed on Interstate 90 Tuesday morning while he was laying flares for an earlier crash.
Officer Fahey's visitation will be held Friday, Jan 27 from 1 to 8 p.m. at Chambers Funeral Homes located at 29150 Lorain Rd. in North Olmsted.
The funeral will be held Jan. 28 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Angels Church located at 3644 Rocky River Drive in Cleveland.
The burial will take place at Brooklyn Heights Cemetery.
The procession from the funeral to the church is expected to start at 9:15 a.m.
The procession from the church to the cemetery will happen around 11:30 a.m.
The North Olmsted Police Department will be closing Stearns/Crocker Rd between Lorain Rd and Center Ridge Rd on Saturday, Jan. 28 beginning at 6 a.m. and reopening at 10 a.m. for the funeral procession.
Expect possible traffic delays in the area of Stearns Rd/Lorain Rd during the visitation as well as Saturday morning.
The City of Westlake is asking residents who live along Hilliard Blvd to wear red, white and blue clothing, fly the American flag and salute or place your hand over your heart as the hearse passes.
A group of Rocky River residents will gather at the Rocky River City Hall campus near Wagar Road and will line the street as far east and west as possible.
The Rocky River Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association will be posting blue ribbons along Hilliard Blvd near Wagar Road.
