Cleveland Metro police are investigating a carjacking turned fatal.
Police said a family of four was dropping off a donation at a church in the 2800 block of Archwood Avenue. The victims were inside the church and were painting at the time of the incident.
Officials said the mother and father tried to intervene and in the struggle, the 33-year-old woman was struck by the car.
"I hear the van take off. He backed up, had to have been doing about 20," said witness Tyrone Jones. "He hit the lady, knocked the fence down and then peeled out and run over her again."
Jones lives across the street from the church where the 33-year-old was killed. He said the victim's entire family, her husband and two children, witnessed her murder.
"We tried to comfort the woman," said Jones. "We covered her up with a coat everything, but it was just too late."
She was pronounced dead at the scene. The kids were not injured.
The suspects fled the scene in the car and bailed on Denison Avenue.
No arrests have been made.
"I hope they bury them under the jail for that one, I really do because that was just senseless," said Jones.
