CRAZY VIDEO: Driver jumps out of moving car during police chase in Cleveland

CLEVELAND — Shocking video shows the moment a driver jumped out of a moving vehicle Cleveland during a police chase in Cleveland.

Brook Park police said that the whole thing started around 4:15 p.m. when an officer from that department attempted to pull over a vehicle for a traffic violation on Smith Road. The driver sped off and refused to stop. The chase went through several city streets before moving to the highway and it ended on Interstate 90 near Lorain Road.

During the chase, authorities said that they saw the driver throw what they believe was contraband out of the car's window.

Moments later, the driver shifted into the passenger seat, opened the door and jumped out of the car while it was still moving, troopers said.

Another passenger in the car was able to bring the vehicle under control.

The driver, who is a 40-year-old Brook Park resident, was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, authorities said. The extent of his injuries is currently unknown.
