CLEVLEAND — New Year’s Eve is one of the biggest nights to go out and celebrate the past year while ringing in a new one. Local authorities want to make sure you don't ruin your night or someone else's by deciding to drink and drive. Summit and Lorain counties are offering free rides home and a Lyft code can get those in Cleveland a discounted ride home.

Here's how to get a free ride and get home safe:

LYFT—Cuyahoga County

Lyft is partnering with Jack Daniels to make sure everyone gets home safe on New Year’s Eve. Lyft users in downtown Cleveland will be able to enter the code CELEBRATECLE for $5 off one ride from 8 p.m. on Tuesday to 3 a.m. on Jan. 1. The offer can’t be combined with other existing offers.

To redeem the codes, open the Lyft app. Then, tap on your profile image in the upper left corner, followed by clicking “promos” and enter the code.
