Posted

Residents in Mahoning County were notified Friday that their drinking water had higher-than-normal levels of lead.

WYTV in Youngstown reports that customers in Sebring, Beloit, Maple Ridge and parts of Smith Township were warned that tests of the water showed levels were above what is recommended by the EPA.

According to WYTV, the Sebring water superintendent will be notifying affected customers and informing them of the proper steps to handle the water.

Sebring school district canceled classes Friday due to the contaminated water.
