885 COVID-19 cases reported in Ohio as testing increases

CLEVELAND — The Ohio Department of Health reported 885 new cases of COVID-19 Friday, the highest daily total since April 20.

The daily spike in cases comes as health experts ramp up the number of tests administered around the state.

Cuyahoga County reported 97 new cases Friday showing an upward trend as testing sites were expanded across the county this week. Cuyahoga County now has a total of 2,668 total cases since early March.

The biggest spike in cases came in Franklin County, which reported 238 new cases Friday, for a total of 3,615 cases since March.
