More than 1,000 Ohioans have now died from COVID-19, according to the Ohio Department of Health.
The state reported 29 more deaths Friday, for a total of 1,002 deaths since early March.
Lucas County now has lost 119 residents, which is the most of any county in Ohio.
"There have been some nursing home deaths in Lucas, but we don't have a scientific reason why they have a higher number," said Dr. Amy Acton, Director of the Ohio Department of Health.
Cuyahoga County has the second most deaths with 115.
COVID-19 cases in Ohio have 'ticked up' this week, according to Acton.
"Our cases are up, but we need a longer view," Acton said. ODH also promised to ratchet up the amount of testing in the state in the coming weeks.
There were 716 new cases reported Friday for a total of 18,743 total cases.
Here is a look at the new cases reported each of the 54 days since the first case of COVID-19 was reported in Ohio.
Franklin County, the most populous county in the state, now has the most cases in Ohio, followed by Marion County, Cuyahoga County, Pickaway County. Hamilton County and Lucas County are tied for 5th most.
