CLEVELAND — On Wednesday afternoon, a water main break closed Lake Avenue in the area of West Boulevard and West 104th Street, according to our crew on the scene.

Some vehicles had water up to the bottom of their door and had to be towed out of the floodwater from the water main break.

“I saw cars getting towed somewhere," said Josh Nesnadney. "The water was almost touching the bottom of the cars. It looked pretty bad.”

Nesnadney was on his way home to his apartment on Lake Avenue and said he wasn’t sure what was going on.

“I'm like, 'What are all these police officers doing here?'" Nesmnadney said. "I was like, 'Okay, I'll just go around' and 'Wait, I can't get around, what's with all this water?'"

Stephanie Maniaci told News 5, she might be stuck at home.

“I'm not sure if I'll be able to get to my weaving class tonight," Maniaci said. “We got an email from our property manager pretty quickly. I think within 30 minutes the water had gone out."

Cleveland’s Division of Water spokesperson Dani Miklos told News 5 that 10 connections were affected by the main break.

"The main is now off and the repair is underway," Miklos said.

Nesnadney hopes the road reopens soon.
