CLEVELAND — A manhunt is underway right now for 17-year-old Adarus Black. He is one of three suspects wanted in connection to the murder of 18-year-old Na’Kia Crawford.

Members of the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force, Akron team, are focused on finding Black.

“We are close, it will be a matter of time,” said U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott. “I anticipate we are going to make an arrest very soon.”

Crawford was driving with her grandmother in the car on June 14 when police believe Black shot into the car and killed her. Police believe the recent high school graduate was not the target and it was a case of mistaken identity.

Police identified three suspects. Two have turned themselves in, the latest, Jaion Bivins Tuesday morning. Now, the focus of the manhunt is Black.

“An innocent 18-year-old girl, tragic. I feel for the family and want to take him off the streets as soon as possible and we will,” added Elliott.

There is a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of Adarus Black. Call the U.S. Marshal’s tip line at 1-800-4-WANTED with information.
