CLEVELAND — Two Northeast Ohio Levin Furniture stores will liquidate inventory and permanently close as a result of business consolidation after Robert Levin reacquired it from Art Van to save jobs and customer deposits, according to a press release from the company.
Liquidation sales will be open to the public and begin on Sept. 3 at the Akron store located at 3742 Brookwall Drive and the North Olmsted store located at 23250 Lorain Road.
Furniture, mattresses and home accessories will be discounted for immediate pickup or delivery. Rugs will be up to 65% off and home accessories marked down 40%.
In March, Robert Levin, the former owner and president of Pittsburgh-based Levin Furniture, said he was coming out of retirement to purchase his company's assets from Art Van, saving Levin Furniture from going out of business and ultimately saving 1,200 jobs across the region.
“While it is always a difficult decision to close stores, our reevaluation following the buy-back indicated that it was necessary for the overall health and longevity of the business,” said Levin.
