Ohio medical marijuana processor Standard Wellness has issued a voluntary product recall for two types of its Standard Drops.
Standard Wellness tells News 5 an employee at the company, who is also a medical marijuana patient, noticed their drops started to congeal.
The company says they've added more sterilization procedures, adding "a sterilization bath for all of the bottles and droppers and we also bake them to ensure full sterilization," said Standard Wellness spokesman Brandon Lynaugh. The company now recommends patients refrigerate their drops after opening them.
Lynaugh says Standard Wellness is offering a full refund for drops manufactured at any time. Previously, the company was offering refunds on drops manufactured before July 3, when the updated sterilization procedures were implemented.
THC drops like Standard Drops are one of the ways patients can consume medical marijuana for one of Ohio's approved conditions, which can be found here. In addition to drops, patients can also buy plant material, edibles, and patches.
