A jury has found Shawn Grate guilty on all counts of aggravated murder and kidnapping.

Grate's sentencing phase will begin Friday, May 18. The same jury that convicted Grate will also decide if he should receive the death penalty.

Grate stood accused of strangling Liz Griffith and Stacey Hicks to death after kidnapping and sexually assaulting them. He also was accused of sexually assaulting a "Jane Doe" who escaped. Griffith and Hicks were found dead at the home Grate occupied on Covert Court in Ashland in September 2016.

Last week, Grate withdrew previous non-guilty pleas and pleaded guilty to 15 charges including rape, burglary, tampering with evidence, gross abuse of a corpse and kidnapping with sexual motivation.
