Troopers investigating drunk driving crash in Ashland County

ASHLAND COUNTY, Ohio — Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a four vehicle crash that occurred Ashland County.

Troopers said the crash happened before 7:45 p.m. Saturday in the 1300 block of State Route 42.

Jack Middleton, 77, was driving a 2007 Chrysler Pacifica when he struck a vehicle in the rear.

The impact pushed a vehicle in front of Middleton into another stopped vehicle. That vehicle then struck a fourth vehicle.

Two people in the vehicle originally struck by Middleton sustained minor injuries.

A juvenile in the fourth car that was hit was transported to Mansfield Medical Center with minor injuries.

Middleton was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle while impaired.

His blood alcohol content was .094 percent.

He is scheduled to appear in court next week.
