ASHTABULA COUNTY, Ohio — Ashtabula County is leaving the Trumbull Ashtabula Law Enforcement Group (TAG) to create a multi-jurisdictional, county-wide drug enforcement task force, according to county officials.
The Ashtabula County Commissioners, Sheriff’s Office and Prosecutor’s Office are holding a joint news conference at 3 p.m. Wednesday to make the announcement. News 5 crews will be at the announcement - stay tuned for more details.
The newly-created task force will continue to utilize existing and experienced TAG drug enforcement officers previously assigned to Ashtabula County “to cooperatively and more inclusively work with other county law enforcement agencies to carry out its attempts to aggressively enforce drug trafficking and possession laws,” the release states.
Ashtabula County will be leaving TAG effective June 30.
