MAPLE HEIGHTS, Ohio — The Maple Heights Police Department is investigating a fatal double shooting that happened Wednesday.
According to police, officers responded to the 5500 block of Elmwood Avenue after receiving a report of a person shot.
When they arrived, officers discovered two men who had each sustained a gunshot wound to the chest. Both men were transported to a nearby hospital where they later died.
A preliminary investigation indicates that the two men exchanged gunfire and were each hit, police said.
The names of the two men haven’t been released yet, but police said they are between 20 and 23 years old.
The matter remains under investigation.
