WESTLAKE, Ohio — Two men with an eye for high fashion absconded from Crocker Park with several Michael Kors purses worth thousands of dollars Thursday night.

Westlake police received a call at about 7:24 p.m. reporting a theft from the Michael Kors store in Crocker Park, according to a news release from police. Employees reported that two men entered the store and shopped around for a few minutes before one of them collected several purses and left the store without paying.

An employee grabbed one of the purse straps as the man was walking outside, police said. There was a struggle over the purse before the man broke free and fled the area.

The men made off with purses valued at thousands of dollars, according to police.

The men got into a Toyota sedan with tinted windows that had been parked on Market Street, police said. The vehicle had one burnt-out driver’s side tail light.

One man is described by police as tall and slender, wearing black clothes and a winter hat. The other appeared younger, and was wearing a blue hoodie with ripped-up blue jeans.

Anyone with information on the purse snatchers is asked to contact the Westlake Police Department at 440-871-3311. Authorities say you can remain anonymous.
