A deadly shooting on Cleveland's east side Friday morning marks the third homicide in a 24-hour span.

The shooting happened at East 131st Street and Harvard Avenue at around 2:20 a.m.

Casings and evidence markers were scattered in the area after a 25-year-old man was shot in the chest.

The man was taken to University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center where he died from his injuries.

A second person was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center via private transportation with a gunshot wound to his hand.

On Thursday in broad daylight, two people were shot and killed on Holly Hill Drive. Authorities said a 52-year-old man died at the scene. A 47-year-old man was taken to a nearby hospital but died from his injuries.

Police are investigating all three shootings. No further information was given at this time.
