The 9-year-old girl who was hit by a car in Euclid earlier this month has died from her injuries.
According to police, De'Zyre Mays passed away Tuesday evening.
De'Zyre was hit on Babbitt Road at East 237th Street around 7:30 a.m. on Nov. 9.
Witnesses said she was running to catch the school bus.
The sidewalk in the area was closed at the time while a construction crew was working in the area. It's unclear if that's why the girl was in the street.
The driver, 23-year-old Lacynthia Tidmore, originally left the scene but later turned herself in to police.
She was charged with felony hit-skip and her bond was set at $5,000.
Police say additional charges could be added by the Grand Jury.
A benefit spaghetti dinner will be held for De'Zyre Saturday from 2 to 6 p.m. at 23001 Euclid Avenue. Parents will be selling dinners to help assist in paying the medical and funeral costs.
