BEDFORD, Ohio — A Bedford High School teacher has been sentenced to two years in prison for having sexual relationships with two students.
Laura Dunker was charged with six counts of sexual battery and one count of tampering with evidence, according to Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas records.
Court records state that in one of the incidents, Dunker allegedly picked up a student before school, went to a park and then engaged in sexual activity with the student. Another incident involved sexual conduct with a student at her home.
Dunker will spend two years in prison and will have five years of community control following her release from prison.
She will also be registered as a Tier III registered sex offender and will have to re-register every 90 days for the rest of her life.
“Teachers are expected to be role models to their students and communities which they serve. She took advantage of these students and now must face the consequences," said Prosecutor Michael O'Malley.
