Body found in ice in Olmsted Township Sunday identified as missing Lorain Co. woman

A woman’s body found frozen in ice in Olmsted Township on Sunday has been identified as a Columbia Station woman who had been missing since January 6.

Julie Parks, 48, was identified as the woman found frozen in ice in the 27000 block of Sprague Road around 3 p.m. on Sunday, February 3, the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed. The cause and manner of death are still pending.

Parks was last known to be at her home in Columbia Station on January 6 at about 9 pm., according to a bulletin from the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office. Parks was reported to suffer from a mental disability due to a traumatic brain injury, and was reported to become easily disoriented.
