A firefighter was transported to the hospital Friday night after battling a house fire on the east side of Cleveland.

The fire happened around 9:40 p.m. Friday at a three story apartment building, located in the 3200 block of E 147th Street.

NewsChannel5 was told the firefighter's passed out onto another firefighter while fighting the fire. The crew called "MAYDAY" and two other crews came into the burning apartment. One crew rescued the fallen firefighter, the other continued to battle the blaze.
