CUYAHOGA COUNTY, Ohio — A Cuyahoga County spokesperson told News 5 that the county plans on furloughing employees.
Beginning next Wednesday, all non-bargaining, full-time employees will be required to take 80 hours of unpaid mandatory furlough hours.
“Due to the COVID-19 crisis, we are experiencing an unprecedented drop in revenue. While we do not yet know the extent of the losses, we do know that they are going to be very significant," the memo said.
The memo stated that the county will be ending paid leave closures and limiting sick leave.
The county did not say how many employees would be furloughed.
