Douglas Shine Jr., who was convicted on murder charges for killing three men at a Warrensville Heights barbershop, will spend the rest of his life behind bars.

A judge opted not to give Shine the death penalty but rather sentenced him to four life sentences without parole plus 380 years.

In February 2015, Shine, 21, shot and killed Walter Lee Barfield, 23, of Cleveland, Brandon White, 31, of Warrensville Heights and William Gonzalez, 32, of Garfield Heights, at Chalk Linez barbershop.

A jury recommended the death penalty for Shine, 21, at the end of a lengthy trial.  He was originally scheduled to be sentenced on Monday, but the hearing was moved to later this month at 10 a.m. If Shine is not sentenced to death, he will serve life in prison with no chance of parole.
