"People don't just disappear off of the face of the earth. I mean somebody knows something, “said Linda Summers. A plea for help to find Ashley Summers.
Linda Summers was married to Ashley's grandfather. Now, she says she has become an advocate to bring Ashley home.
"It's amazing no one has seen her for 10 years. I can't believe that. Somebody knows what happened, somebody knows where she is," added Summers
The 14-year-old left her uncle's house in July 2007 and vanished from Cleveland. There have been searches, tips and leads but the mystery about where Ashley is continues to stump her family and law enforcement.
"She may have been a run away at the beginning. But, obviously something has happened to Ashley," said FBI Special Agent Vicki Anderson.
The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children just released an age progression image of what the now 24-year-old might look like now. Experts said to focus on the face. According to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, the majority of missing children cases are solved with the help of the public.
"One of our strongest tools is not only the image of the child but engaging the public to report sightings to law enforcement about a missing child because more times than not that's what brings children home," said Robert Lowery, V.P. Missing Children Division, National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
The case remains open with both the FBI and the NCMEC. If you have any information about Ashley Summers you are asked to contact the Cleveland FBI at 216-522-1400.
