EAST CLEVELAND, Ohio — East Cleveland police are investigating a shooting that left a woman dead and two others injured, including a four-year-old child.
The shooting happened near Hayden and Superior avenues at around 8:39 p.m. Monday.
A man and child suffered gunshot wounds. They were transported to University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center for treatment. According to police, the child and the man are in stable condition.
A female passenger was pronounced dead at 10:05 p.m.
In several 911 calls, neighbors described the sound of gunshots as they echoed throughout their community.
“Just hear [the sound of bullets] shaking our house,” one caller said. “We have three young kids and I’m just scared.”
News 5 observed investigators going door-to-door around midday Tuesday as they continue to piece together what happened, and who is behind the shooting.
East Cleveland Police said a male is being interviewed and they have active leads the department is pursuing.
