PARMA HEIGHTS, Ohio — Pearl Road in Parma Heights was turned into a river after a large water main break caused significant flooding and damage to the roadway Thursday morning.

The Cleveland Water Department responded to the scene.
Parma Heights police closed Pearl Road from York Road to Ackley Road. The road has reopened from York to Olde York Road but remains completely closed from Olde York Road to Ackley Road. Crews are working to reopen one lane of the road in each direction, Parma Heights police said.
The water department is still working on repairs and said water service would be restored soon to customers who were impacted by the break. No boil alert has been issued at this time.
At this time, the cause of the break is unknown at this time.
