A Lorain man who called police after he thought he locked his keys in his car ended up with a citation when officers found marijuana in his vehicle.
Police responded to a parking lot outside a restaurant at Crocker Park around 1:34 a.m. on Thursday morning to help the stranded motorist. While unlocking the car, officers said they noticed a glass pipe and grinder sitting in plain view on the center console. They also said a strong smell of marijuana was coming from inside the car.
After the car was unlocked the motorist was still unable to find his keys. Authorities said that's when the man realized the keys were with a sweatshirt he forgot inside the restaurant.
The 27-year-old man was cited for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
