Homeowner shoots, kills man who allegedly broke into home on Cleveland's east side

A burglary suspect was killed by a homeowner during a home invasion on Cleveland's east side Wednesday morning. 

It happened in the 10600 block of Elgin Avenue around 3 a.m. 

The homeowner told police he shot someone who broke into his house. 

When officers went inside, they found a man in his 20s near the stairway with multiple gunshot wounds. 

He was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The homeowner was not arrested at the scene. The case will be investigated and presented to the Grand Jury.
