MAPLE HEIGHTS, Ohio — A man was shot after he refused to give up his vehicle during an attempted carjacking, Maple Heights police said in a news release on Monday.
Police said on Sunday they received a call about shots fired around 8:50 p.m. in the area of Turney and Dunham roads.
Both the driver and the passenger told police that two people approached the vehicle and pounded on the window, according to police. When they refused to give up the vehicle, gunfire erupted and the driver was shot in the leg.
The driver was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center where he was treated and released.
