Man walking his dog struck by hit-and-run driver

BAY VILLAGE, Ohio — Bay Village police are investigating a hit-and-run.

Police said they received a call on April 1 around 9:15 p.m. that a pedestrian had been by struck a vehicle in the area of Aberdeen Avenue and Cahoon Road.

When officers arrived, they found a 52-year-old man from Westlake was walking his dog south on the sidewalk when a northbound vehicle struck him and the dog before driving away.

Police were unable to find the person's car.

The man was transported to Saint John's Westshore with serious injuries.

The dog was not seriously injured.
