Massive tree splits Cleveland Heights house nearly in half

Posted

Storms rolling across Northeast Ohio on Monday created havoc for residents in many areas, causing power outages, flooding and downed power lines.

But one Cleveland Heights family is dealing with something on a wholly different level — their home on the 3000 block of Derbyshire Road was nearly cut in half by a massive fallen tree.

Mother nature uprooted the tree around 9 p.m. and sent it crashing down. The tree cut a diagonal line through the roof, leaving a broken, gnarled mess strew about the lawn.

The resident and his son weren't injured when the tree fell.
