MAYFIELD, Ohio — Mayfield High School has suspended all play and practice for the freshman, junior varsity and varsity volleyball teams after three players tested positive for COVID-19, according to the school.
The three players received positive test results after taking rapid COVID-19 tests over the weekend, the school said.
District officials immediately contacted the Cuyahoga County Board of Health to report the cases and possible exposure.
Mayfield’s volleyball activity is suspended until further notice.
Fall sports, including volleyball, were cleared to begin competition on Friday under the order issued by Gov. Mike DeWine and the Ohio Department of Health.
