PARMA, Ohio — A missing 16-year-old from Iowa was found in Parma.

The missing teenager was last seen on Jan. 4, by her grandparents, whom she lived with in Colesburg, Iowa.

The grandparents reported her missing after they found a hand written note in the morning, according to a press release.

Officials said the granddaughter stated that she had left home to move to California.

On Jan. 15, the Iowa State Department of Public Safety contacted the Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force to ask for assistance to find her.

Authorities believed she was taken to an area in Parma.

ICAC investigators, Parma police and the United States Secret Service Cleveland Field Office found the teenager on Jan 16.

Steven Davis, 21, and his mother Laurie Metot, 49, were arrested and charged with one count of interference with custody.

Davis and Metot are being held at the Cuyahoga County Jail in lieu of a $50,000 bond with conditions of GPS monitoring upon their release.
