TAMPA, Fla. — Even though the Browns didn’t make the Super Bowl this year, Northeast Ohio was still represented in Super Bowl LV with a North Royalton native opening the game’s traditions.

Air Force Captain Sarah Kociuba led the flyover above Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Sunday before the big game.

Kociuba has flown more than 90 combat missions and logged more than 1,700 flight hours in five different kinds of aircraft.

She said she became interested in aviation after going to the Cleveland Air Show when she was younger.

“I'm a proud Cleveland native and I'm very excited that not only I can represent the Air Force for this flyover, but Cleveland as well. So I'm very proud to be a Cleveland native and always think of Ohio, love Ohio.

Kociuba said she hopes next year she’ll be able to do the flyover with the Cleveland Browns in the Super Bowl.
