PEPPER PIKE, Ohio — Several roads in Pepper Pike will remain restricted while authorities investigate gas leak that caused an explosion Friday.
City officials released the following regarding traffic restrictions within the city:
There is a limited amount of travel allowed at Brainard Circle. There is no access to the circle from Brainard Road or Gatesmills Blvd. There is no west bound access to circle from Shaker Blvd. You can access Pepper Pike City Hall from travel on Shaker Blvd only. Orange City Schools have been contacted and made aware of all the road closure and detours. We are working to reopen the roadway as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience.
Officials said the investgiation, which is being conducted by the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio and the State Fire Marshal's Office, may take several weeks.

The explosion happened just before 1 a.m. on Brainard Circle. The resulting fire caused power outages to several hundred nearby homes.
There were no reports of injuries or damage to homes.
