A crash at Henry Ford Boulevard and Brookpark Road in Brook Park sent two people to the hospital early Monday.
According to Brook Park police, an officer was near the intersection around 12:50 a.m. when a car heading westbound on Brookpark Road lost control and struck a utility pole.
A woman in the front passenger seat was ejected in the crash. Brook Park police said she suffered critical injuries. Police said the man driving was in a little better shape but described his injuries as serious.
The cause of the crash is under investigation but police did say it appears speed was a factor. The speed limit in the area is 35 mph.
The intersection was closed for about two hours while police investigated and the car was towed.
