One person killed after shots are fired into car on Cleveland's east side

One person was killed when shots were fired into a car on Cleveland's east side Monday night. 

It happened in the area of Finn and Otakar avenues.

While officers arrived at the scene, they were told two men showed up at MetroHealth Medical Center with gunshot wounds.

A 24-year-old man was pronounced dead at the hospital.

According to police, three people were in a car in the area of East 55th Street and Broadway Avenue. The 24-year-old man was sitting in the passenger seat and got into a verbal altercation with a man standing on a corner when an unknown person began shooting at the car. 

A 20-year-old, who was sitting in the back seat, was shot, along with the 24-year-old man. A 23-year-old man drove the other two men to the hospital.

The 20-year-old sustained a gunshot wound to the collarbone and is being treated at MetroHealth Medical Center.

Members of the Homicide Unit and the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office responded to the scene and to the hospital for investigation.

This incident is still under investigation.
