City officials are hosting a food drive on Saturday to benefit the Parma Hunger Center.
The event runs from noon to 3 p.m. at the Parma Armory, 5301 Hauserman Road.
The event hopes to raise $2,018 and collect 2,018 pounds of food from donations.
According to the Greater Cleveland Food, in 2016, one in five children from Northeast Ohio didn't have a reliable source of food on a regular basis.
Anyone sending in monetary donations is asked to send them to the Parma Council Office, Attn: Parma Project Cheer, 6611 Ridge Road, Parma, Ohio 44129. Checks must be made payable to "Parma Project Cheer." Cash donations can be dropped off at the event.
