PARMA, Ohio — W-2s in Parma were mailed to city employees in unsealed envelopes.

A spokesperson for the city said they would be offering one-year of Norton LifeLock identity theft protection to all employees.

The city released the following statement:

“When we learned of this incident, we immediately took measures to protect our employees. On Monday, we made all employees aware that we are offering them one-year of coverage from Norton LifeLock identity theft protection.

We regret that this occurred and are conducting an internal review to determine what caused the problem. We are also looking at safeguards and procedures to prevent this from happening in the future.”
