A pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle in Westlake on Friday morning.
The fatal incident happened shortly after 6 a.m. in the 27900 block of Center Ridge Road, near Westlake Park.
The pedestrian was badly injured at the scene and was taken to nearby University Hospitals St. John Medical Center by the Westlake Fire Department, according to police.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The pedestrian was identified as 68-year-old Ligija Jekic of Westlake.
Police said no one in the vehicle was injured.
