Resident mistakes churchgoer taking a nut roll off a Bay Village porch for a package thief

BAY VILLAGE, Ohio — An alert resident keeping a watchful eye on his neighbor’s Bay Village home misidentified a churchgoer just trying to a get a dessert off a porch for a suspicious person trying to steal a package.

Shortly after 9:00 a.m. on Christmas Day, Bay Village police responded to a call for a suspicious person in the 300 block of Breezewood Drive.

Officers responded and learned that a man in his 40s took a package off a resident’s porch.

An investigation revealed that the homeowner had left out a nut roll for someone from her church to pick up.
