SOLON, Ohio — The popular frozen food company Stouffer's, that was founded in Cleveland in the 1920s, is offering free meals for government employees on furlough due to the ongoing government shutdown.

Government employees in the Cleveland area can visit the Stouffer’s Solon campus on Wednesday, Jan. 16 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and receive a free Stouffer’s meal, according to a Facebook event created by the company.

Government employees looking to pick up a free meal need to bring their government ID with them.

Free meals are available while supplies last, the company said.

Stouffer’s in Solon is located at 30003 Bainbridge Road.

The current government shutdown is the longest in U.S. history.

An estimated 800,000 federal workers have been affected by the lapse in funding, either by having to work without pay while it lasts or by being furloughed.
